GC Aesthetics announces new Head of Marketing

GC Aesthetics is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Fara Naomi Macias as “GCA Head of Marketing”.

With her experience in the aesthetic business in the last 8 years Fara has been able to deliver tremendous results by launching the GCA brand in Mexico in 2014 with our distributor Grupo Venta Internacional.

Within just two years, Fara was able to achieve market leadership in a highly competitive environment. She was instrumental in driving demand generation, category creation and market recovery, as well as building customer and partner engagement across the region. Her extensive experience with GC Aesthetics products and other aesthetic adjacent products as compression garments, skin care or surgical tools will serve her well in this new position.

Fara will be based in Barcelona, Spain overseeing worldwide marketing efforts and will be working in connection with all departments and particularly with the sales team in order to execute several upcoming product launches coming up at GC Aesthetics. Her capability in brand building, digital marketing and organizational leadership will be integral for GCA to continue its global growth.

We sat down with Fara to ask her about her appointment:

First of all, you relocated in one of the most difficult times to take on this new role, how was the decision process and your experience?

I have to say it was unique. Making a life changing decision like this (relocating from Mexico to Spain), in the midst of a global pandemic and uncertainty… I think it just confirms and proves how much I believe in GCA and the future projects.  GCA has strong foundations and I truly believe that my experience will help consolidate, solidify and accelerate where we are and where we want to be as a company.

What did you find most exciting about the Head of Marketing role?

There are a lot of exciting opportunities that come with this role. First, working with “the world”: different countries, languages, local custom and uses; creating messages that will surpass, adapt and achieve. I am also very excited of GCA’s next launches, to be a part of them and help bring patients and plastic surgeons value and consolidate us as the solution provider for women’s aesthetics.  Additionally, working hand by hand with sales and creating campaigns, tools and material that is valuable for our commercial team, but also for surgeons and patients. Last, but not least, leading a very talented team.

What do you consider the biggest challenges and opportunities?

The biggest challenge at this time, is having no visible clarity of what will happen with the world in the next couple of months, but I believe that is also our greatest opportunity, to consolidate who we are and stay connected to our people both internally and externally.

How would you describe your leadership style?

Empowering. Being a team lead is first & foremost an important opportunity to leverage skills, motivate and move together to the next level. I came to find a very passionate team, that is by the way, 100% female and I love that. Not only for the fact that we look to communicate and serve women around the world with our products, but because of the idea of having more women in important spaces in the corporate world. I’m proud to sit here today as a woman and to have the chance to empower not only my direct team, but women I know, and women that will read this and believe that there are no limits.

What are you going to miss most about Mexico?

My family. I’ve been “independent” for more than 10 years now, but I was a few hours away… now I’m 9 thousand kilometres away and 7 hours apart! But, this is a digital world and I know that they are a zoom call away. The truth is Barcelona is a great city, I have only been here for a couple of weeks now, but it has been very welcoming and I’m sure pretty soon I will feel at home.
